Drake Is My Ideal Man — Nicki Minaj

In a recent interview with I-D Magazine Nicki was asked about her ideal man and she said “One day I will run away with Drake and get married, but right now it’s just a fantasy.”

Drake has allegedly split from his former boo RiRi. He also has spit a few bars about Nicki in the past and the two created a fake marriage on twitter in 2010. On Drake’s ‘Nothing Was The Same’ album he even had some lyrics about a falling out between the two. They would  definitely be a perfect match..This should be some kind of ‘Watch Out’ hint.

19-yr-old, who tested HIV-positive after she was gang-raped, seeks justice

Found this story on The Nation. So heartbreaking. Read below…

Helen (surname withheld) will be 20 years on October 10. But she now bears a burden that is too heavy for her age. She was gang-raped in January this year and was diagnosed with HIV last month. Due to the heart-rending experience and the medical diagnosis that followed, the once cheerful and vivacious Helen now wears a long face as she carries with her the psychological burden of the experience.

After secondary school in 2008, Helen wanted to further her education
, but being the fifth of 11 children comes with its own challenge. “Na the condition of no money, na im prevent me from going further,” said Helen when asked why she had not bothered to continue her education.
Despite her background, Helen was unperturbed. Determined that she would return to school some day, she began working as a cleaner in a big firm at Lekki, Lagos, from where she hoped to save for school. She had worked there for almost a year before the tragic episode that altered her life dramatically took place. It was with a deep emotion that she recounted her ordeal.

All was quiet and the street lonely early that Tuesday morning when the unsuspecting lady set out from her Bariga home to resume her morning shift at work. It was at exactly 5:05am, the same time she often left home everyday to board a bus some streets away to Lagos Island. But that morning, something was not right. She noticed five young men lurking about as she got out of her street’s gate. On seeing their fearsome appearance, her heart skipped a beat.

When flaming gay men turn straight and then have babies..

How did this happen? Lol. It’s really a miracle when a flaming gay man, who has lived proudly as a gay man almost all his life turns straight and then have a baby with a woman. Who remembers Antoine Dodson? He’s the gay guy who became an internet sensation back in 2010 when he famously helped his sister fend off an attempted rapist … and told a reporter, “Hide ya kids, hide ya wife, hide ya husbands … cause they rapin’ everybody out here.” lol. Y’all remember him?

Well, he’s now a father. He announced on twitter yesterday that he and his girlfriend have welcomed a son…and proudly showed off his new family.

In 2013, Antoine announced that his religion ‘Hebrew Israelite’ had cured his ‘gayness’ and that he planned to have a family of his own. Well, it’s happened. Halleluyah! :-). See more photos after the cut…

The Tortoise And The Snake – A Yoruuba Folk Tale

Ijapa the tortoise went on a long walk. He walked very far and got very tired. Ijapa was very hungry too.

Ijapa came to the village where Ojola, the boa snake, lived. Ijapa thought, “I am so hungry, I will stop here. Ojola will surely give me food to eat.”

Ijapa went to Ojola’s house and Ojola welcomed him. They sat in the cool house and talked. Ijapa smelled food cooking in the other part of the house. Ojola said, “Come, let us get ready to eat together.”

Ijapa went outside to prepare for the meal. When he came back, the food was placed in the center of the house and Ijapa smelled the aroma. But the tortoise could not reach the food. The snake was coiled all around it. Ijapa got more and more hungry.

Ojola the snake said, “Come sit with me and eat.”

Ijapa said, “I would be very happy to sit and eat. But Ojola, why are you surrounding the meal?”

Ojola replied, “This is the way of the snakes. When we eat, we sit around the food like this.” Ojola ate and ate of the food, but Ijapa could not get it at all. Ojola finished eating at last. He said to Ijapa, “How good it is to eat with a friend.”

Ijapa was even hungrier after the meal than when he came to Ojola’s house. He felt much in his heart about what happened.

Ijapa decided to invite Ojola to his house for a meal on a feast day. Ijapa’s wife prepared all the foods and Ijapa went out to weave a long tail for himself out of grass. He stuck it on with tree gum.

Ojola arrived to share the feast. The tortoise welcomed him and said, “You have come a long way and you are hungry.” Ojola went to wash at a spring and when he returned to Ijapa’s house, he saw Ijapa was already eating. Ijapa had coiled his long grass tail all around the food. Ojola could not get near enough to eat. Ijapa heartily ate the food.

Around and around Ojola went. He could not get to the food. “Ijapa,” the snake said, “how is it that you used to be so short and now you are so very long?”

“One person learns from another,” Ijapa said.
